“For years I have been trailing small Ant dry flies behind a larger dry to sipping fish. This pattern started life as a foam dry ant. At times the ant did not float too well and I was amazed at how often fish would eat it after it had sunk. So he we have the sinking version the Crucial Ant. On ocassions fish like something bright with a high Ultra Violet content. This fly can be very effective in the Taupo fishery especially in low clear conditions.” – Category 3
Tied on a Tiemco 2457 super strong curved nymph hook with a wide gape. Curved wide gape hooks give you a better hook set.
