The new Tungsten RS+ beads were released in November of 2024 and they are a game changer in the world of fly fishing. They are designed to provide enhanced performance with a focus on using larger beads on smaller hooks - meaning the 4.0mm is capable of sitting on the size 18 hook! The beads feature a narrower slot, which allows for the inclusion of more weight, up to 20% higher compared to conventional tungsten beads of the same diameter. This increased weight improves the sinking speed and overall stability of the fly, which is crucial for precise casting, control of fly, take detection and hook setting. The RS+ beads can be paired with various hooks, they perform best when used with H460BL RS hooks, ensuring a perfect match between hook and bead for optimal results.
